A tourist Place - Goa

3rd Century BC. Goa was a part of the Mauryan kingdom under the rule of the great emperor Ashoka. After his death, many Hindu kingdoms like Chalukyas, Satavahanas, Rashtrakutas, etc. took over his region and his empire was fragmented. Goa was made a major maritime power during the empire of Kadambas in the 10th century. Their rule lasted for 300 years and Goa was their main trade center. Goa had a turbulent phase under the rule of the Delhi Sultanate during the year 1356.

Catamaran Sailing

Catamaran Sailing is the new addition to the water sports activities held in Goa. It is soon catching up with the tourists who love to take new challenges in life. Most of the beaches of Goa offer facilities for catamaran sailing.

Catamaran sailing is also called Hobby Cats. It is a more relaxed water sport as compared to its other cousins like the water scooters and banana or ringo rides. Four people can enjoy the leisurely activity at a time. The boat used for catamaran sailing is made up by joining the hulls of two boats. The hulls are joined by a trampoline and a mast attached at the top acts as a sail.

Catamaran Sailing can be experienced at the Benaulim, Dona Paula, Calangute, Colva, and Utorda beaches of Goa. It gives the visitor a good time to thoroughly admire the beauty of the gushing sea waves and the brightly shinning sun.
